Intended use
Standard model for vertical mounting with Nylon or Popypropylene (PP) body, total length 55 mm, Ø 21x30 mm float, 1 NO contact reversible to NC, with thread process connection and a mounting accesory kit to mount the device from the inside or outside of the tank depending on the application and with cable output.
These devices are used to control the level in tanks, containers, bypass pipes, ... of liquids like waters, oils, chemical products, ... with non-ferric particles in suspension are used. This model is specially indicated to be control the maximum, minimum or an alarm level in small tanks.
Function
The magnetic float switches have a guide-way body where a float moves. Inside the body there are REED contacts that change its position due to the magnetic field of the magnet placed inside the float when arrives at the contact point. When the liquid level falls, the float moves back and the signal turns into the initial position.
To reverse the NO contact to NC contact, take the float out and change the position 180º.
Mechanical connection
The standard form is mounting the device with the thread proccess connection and the mounting kit verifying the position of the indicator.
Depending on the application, the indicator can be mounted from the inside or from the outside with the mounting kit.
External mounting, maximum thickness of deposit wall 10 mm: Drill a hole of Ø 23 mm and polish it to prevent damage to the washer or grommet. Remove the protections of the indicator cables . Introduce the grommet, friction washer and the fixation nut into the indicator and turn the nut until the grommet will be warped. With the indicator placed in the right position, introduce the group into the hole until the grommet touch the wall. Keep the position of the group and tigthen the nut with a maximum torque of 2.67 Nm. Verify the water-tightness of the grommet and the position of the indicator and connect the cable to the system of control.
Internal mounting, maximum thickness of deposit wall 8 mm: Drill a hole of Ø 16.5 mm and polish it to prevent damage to the washer or grommet. Remove the protections of the indicator cables and place and introduce the washer or gasket into the indicator. Introduce the cable from inside and place the group to the wall verifying the position of the gasket. Introduce from the exterior of the tank the washer and the fixation nut. With the indicator placed in the right position, keep the position of the group and tigthen the nut with a maximum torque of 4 Nm. Verify the water-tightness of the grommet and the position of the indicator and connect the cable to the system of control.
Depending on the application, the indicator can be mounted from the bottom of the tank or container (facing down).
For a correct use of the level switch, the float must not touch the walls of the tank and it is necessary to ensure the free movement of the float.
