Intended use
Model for vertical mounting. Connection box output and flange process connection from the outside of the tank.
These devices are used to control the level in tanks, containers, bypass pipes, ... of liquids like waters, oils, chemical products, ... with non-ferric particles in suspension are used.
The magnetic float switches are indicators that are made under request depending on each application. The material of the indicator body, float, length of the switch, process connection (thread, flange, clamp flange), electrical output (cable output, DIN connector, connection box), number of contacts (1 to 4 depending on the model), type of contacts (NO, NC, SPDT - NO+NC) and position of the contacts.
The electrical connection box is made of PBT (under request Aluminium), and the standard Ø 120 mm flange is made of PVC (under request models in Stainless Steel, PP or PVDF).
Models in Stainless Steel 1.4401: models with Ø 12 mm body, with espherical Ø 52 mm and maximum lenght up to 2.500 mm. There are other float models depending on the application (Ø 44 mm, Ø 95 mm with roominess or Polyamide Ø 29x50 to use normally in oils). There is range of models to reduced applications with Ø 8 mm body, Ø 30x30 mm float and with a maximum length up to 500 mm.
Also, there are models with PVC or Polypropylene housing with a Polypropylene Ø 29x50 mm float or PVDF housing with PVDF Ø38x60 mm float.
To use these devices in ambients with vapour, the contacts can be protected with condensation protection gel (removal contacts in the future) or with Epoxy resin (non-removable contacts in the future) that can extend the lifetime of the device.
Function
The magnetic float switches have a guide-way body where a float moves. Inside the body there are REED contacts that change its position due to the magnetic field of the magnet placed inside the float when arrives at the contact point. When the liquid level falls, the float moves back and the signal turns into the initial position.
Mechanical connection
The standard form is mounting the device with the flange proccess connection. Drill the required holes in the top of the tank or container and mount the indicator using screws, rods, fasteners or nuts making sure of the verical position of the group.
Depending on the application, the indicator can be mounted from the bottom of the tank or container (facing down).
For a correct use of the level switch, the float must not touch the walls of the tank and it is necessary to ensure the free movement of the float.
